Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port Citybus catches fire

A Citybus caught fire at the Hong Kong Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and a male cleaning worker was arrested for arson.

Today (7th) at about 7:30 in the morning, at the public transport interchange of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port on Shun Hang Road, Lantau Island, a double-decker city bus was blazing on the upper deck, with a lot of smoke coming out. Firefighters arrived at the scene to put out the fire , found the cause of the fire suspicious.

It can be seen at the scene that the city bus was severely burned and the windshield burst, and the front of the lower deck was also destroyed.

It is understood that the police were present at the scene to investigate and check the CCTV, during which someone admitted to being involved in the bus fire, and earlier used a lighter to set the fire.

After the incident, the police arrested a 29-year-old man surnamed Zhong. It is reported that he was a cleaning worker outside the travel inspection building. When he was arrested, he was about to stop work.

Police have temporarily placed the case on arson.

It is understood that after investigating and checking the CCTV at the scene, the police found that a male cleaning worker was in the car before the incident, and the bus involved caught fire afterwards.

The police stopped and checked the suspected cleaner nearby. During the period, someone admitted to being involved in the bus fire. The police arrested the 29-year-old man surnamed Zhong and will take him back to the police station.

It is understood that the arrested Zhong Nan was a cleaning worker outside the travel inspection building on the site, and he was about to call it a day.

After investigation, the police believe that the arrested man used a lighter to set the fire.

Police classified the case as arson.
