The confusion of the double Münchner Straße should soon be history due to a renaming.

Icking - The municipality is concerned that the same street name occurs in Icking and Dorfen.
It's annoying when parcels can't be delivered correctly because a street name exists twice in a municipality.
The residents of Münchner Strasse in Icking and in the district of Dorfen are affected by such a duplication.
However, a survey by the municipality was not able to show how high the level of suffering actually is.
This showed that the residents wanted to keep their own street name, but wanted the neighbors to change it: "The people of Icking are more in favor of renaming it to Dorfen, the people of Dorfen would like the variant with renaming it to Icking," reported Mayor Verena Reithmann (UBI). at the last council meeting.
The majority of the villagers surveyed stated that they would prefer the name to be changed to Nördliche and Südliche Straße.
According to Reithmann, however, significantly more people than necessary would be affected by the renaming.
"Unbearable Conditions"
Citizens have also asked that such a decision not be made for reasons known only from hearsay.
The mayor reported that the suggestion came from concerned citizens.
There was talk of "unbearable conditions".
To clarify, Reithmann asked the shift manager at the Oberland integrated control center how problematic the duplication of the street name on Münchner Strasse was when coordinating rescue operations.
She received the answer that both streets were recorded accordingly.
It cannot be ruled out whether an individual case led to a search.
However, this could always happen.
However, one does not see a need for a renaming.
A possible renaming will be discussed again at the upcoming public meeting in September.
It should be clarified whether a renaming is still desired.
