The Traffic Committee in Lattakia Governorate agreed to stop the discount applied to Pullman buses by 12 percent, after the increase in the diesel fuel allocations that reached the province.

The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Lattakia, Eng. Ahmed Zaher, confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that there is coordination with the Passenger Transport and Traffic Committee to control the movement of transport in the province.

Zaher indicated that as part of the strict measures in the penalties for public transport services leaking from their lines, 140 seizures were organized during the last two months under Decree No. 8 on consumer protection for violating trafficking in a state-supported substance and referring these seizures to the competent judiciary.

On the distribution of oil derivatives, Zaher indicated that gas stations continue to operate, pointing out that there are 118 stations in the governorate, including 34 stations that sell the material at cost prices distributed over the main axes in the governorate.

And he indicated that there are 7 closed stations as a result of catering controls, stressing that the Directorate takes into account the distribution of stations to regions and not assigning citizens additional burdens as a result of closing stations, through the ability of station owners to pay alternative fines for the days of closures, pointing out that the total fines recorded against violating stations within two months amounted to 633 million Syrian Pound.
