Lapid and the president of the United Arab Emirates discussed expanding the Abrahamic agreements to other countries in the region
The two discussed the issue in a conversation initiated by Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed, who wanted to congratulate Lapid on his entry into the post of prime minister.
In their conversation, they emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and expressed satisfaction with the developing tourism and economic ties between them.

UAE President Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed greeted Prime Minister Yair Lapid this evening (Thursday) upon taking office.
In their conversation, the two talked about expanding the circle of Abraham agreements to other countries in the region.
The President wished the Prime Minister success and stressed the continuing importance of the relationship between the peoples.
In the conversation, Lapid congratulated President Ben Zayed on the occasion of the Feast of Sacrifice, which will begin on Saturday.
The two leaders also discussed the importance of strengthening ties between the countries and expressed satisfaction with the tourism and economic ties that are developing between them.
Lapid thanked the president for the conversation, saying that the personal trust between them, as well as the State of Israel's commitment to the Abrahamic Agreements and the continuation of the Negev Forum and its development into a permanent framework, are "a solid foundation for excellent relations and strengthening prosperity and cooperation between countries."

Last month, former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with Ben-Zayed in the United Arab Emirates, where he paid a quick visit, during which Bennett expressed condolences on the death of President Khalifa Ben-Zayed a month earlier.
During that visit, the two discussed the Iranian issue.
In mid-May, President Yitzhak Herzog landed in Abu Dhabi and met with Ben Zaid to express his condolences on the death of Sheikh Khalifa Ben Zaid.
