Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that Russia and China are working to expand the scope of strategic cooperation against the background of the US policy and containment policy targeting Moscow and Beijing.
“We highly appreciate the results of the Beijing Summit, where our leaders discussed in detail the tasks of our strategic partnership,” Lavrov was quoted as saying during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi today on the Indonesian island of Bali, where the meetings of the G20 foreign ministers are taking place, explaining, “against the background of the United States’ strategic approach and its endeavors.” To double the containment of development in our country, we continue to increase the volume and broaden the scope of cooperation.”
Lavrov stressed that "Russian-Chinese relations have enormous potential and prospects," noting that "the two countries will continue to develop new forms of cooperation that are not affected by external negative factors."
