Ahead of US President Joe Biden's visit, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke tonight (Wednesday to Thursday) with Prime Minister Yair Lapid to congratulate him on taking office.
The Secretary confirmed to the Prime Minister the unwavering commitment of the United States to the US-Israel partnership, to Israel's security and to the war on common threats, including those from Iran.
He also stressed US support for a two-state solution in the negotiations.
Minister Blinken noted that President Biden expects to celebrate the partnership with Israel during his forthcoming visit.
As first reported in "Israel Today", the president will arrive in Israel on July 13.
This will be the first stop on his journey, which will last until the 16th of the month and will also include visits to the Palestinian Authority and Saudi Arabia.
As mentioned, Lapid returned this week from a visit with the French prime minister, where he asked Macron to back the Israeli position opposing the US return to the nuclear agreement with Iran, and to remove the Revolutionary Guards from the US State Department's list of terrorist organizations.
