Algeria-SANA

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, affirmed that the enemies of Syria are trying in vain to reach their goals through the suffocating siege after they failed to achieve them through terrorism, stressing that all these attempts, whether economic or military, are doomed to failure.

During his meeting yesterday evening with the members of the Syrian community in Algeria and the Syrian diplomatic staff at the headquarters of the Syrian embassy, Miqdad pointed out the great challenges facing Syria, as the Turkish regime is trying to expand its occupation in the northwest and supports terrorist groups from “Jabhat al-Nusra” and “ISIS” and others, while the United States is supporting Separatist groups in the northeast.

Miqdad stressed that all attempts to pressure Syria will fail because of the steadfastness and leadership of the Syrian Arab people and the heroism and sacrifices of its valiant army.

For his part, Syrian Ambassador to Algeria Dr. Namir Al-Ghanim affirmed that Syria has proven its ability to defeat terrorism and thwart all foreign conspiracies against it.

Mikdad visited Algeria to participate in its celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Independence Day, where he was received yesterday by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra.
