A 19-year-old Erdinger driver engaged in a wild chase with the police.

He raced away from the strip between Poing and Feldkirchen - at times on the rims because the tires had burst.

Poing

- On Wednesday, July 6, at around 11:15 p.m., a patrol crew from the Poing police noticed a black Audi on Gruber Strasse in Poing, which was apparently traveling at slightly excessive speed.

When the patrol decided to subject the driver to a traffic check and to open up to the vehicle, the Audi driver accelerated sharply and tried to escape the patrol.

According to their own statements, the police then took up the pursuit of the fugitive.

Lights off during escape

During the escape attempt, the driver switched off all the vehicle lights on the local link road from Parsdorf to Weißenfeld.

In the meantime, more patrols were ordered because the driving style posed a significant risk to other road users and the driver made no move to stop.

Ultimately, he drove to Feldkirchen, where he continued to race through the village without lights and at high speed.

The driver drove so fast that he was only able to maintain limited control of his vehicle and kept veering into the oncoming lane.

Fortunately, the roads were mostly empty at the time, so there were no accidents.

Escape over the sidewalk

At the roundabout on Münchner Strasse, the driver could no longer hold the vehicle due to the speed and drifted off the road to the left into a field.

Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated and continued on the sidewalk.

Luckily there were no more pedestrians on the road at this point.

The driver continued his escape on the sidewalk until he got back on the road at the intersection of Münchner Strasse and Ottendichler Strasse and from there continued in a northerly direction.

Tire burst: Audi driver races on the rims

At this point, two tires had already been damaged to such an extent that they burst and the driver continued to drive on the rims.

Of course, that didn't go well for long, so the driver finally gave up and turned himself in.
