Orange summer in Ness Ziona: Family events to encourage recycling

A little over a year ago, the orange bins also arrived in Ness Ziona, whose residents recycle no less than 90 tons of packaging waste from the beginning of the year until May.
As part of the extensive deployment in the city, bins and carts were placed in the 22 municipal recycling centers located in the heart of the neighborhoods, in the street corners and in the garbage rooms in the buildings.
The new facilities made recycling accessible to the city's residents and enabled Ness Ziona residents to make packaging recycling a way of life.
This summer, residents will have the opportunity to take the issue one step further, as part of the "Summer of Recycling" competition, in collaboration with the Walla!
Tamir Recycling Corporation and the Local Government Center, in which about 20 local authorities from all over the country will take part.
What awaits the residents of Ness Ziona this coming summer?
As part of the summer events for the whole family in July, a special recycling activity awaits the residents of Ness Ziona.
At the fair events with the confused Yuval and other artists, the families are invited to arrive with 5 recyclable packages, throw them in the orange bin and receive a refreshing popsicle and other surprises.
The complex will operate at the summer events in Boali - Kogomlo's show on 12.7, at the Givat HaTor event - the show of the confused Yuval on 19.7, and at the summer event in Argaman - Happening childhood games on 26.8.
Admission to all events is free, so prepare the packaging and meet at the summer events.
Ness Ziona hopes to recreate the success from last summer
Ness Ziona hopes that the summer activity will be no less enjoyable than the activity held last summer.
About a year ago, a recycling happening took place in the city, as part of which Tamir's traveling caravan arrived at the city's gardens.
Hundreds of residents came to the activity complexes, threw thousands of empty packages into the transparent recycling caravan and participated in the many colorful activities including plays and activities for children.
In addition, towards the end of the year, the orange teams of the Tamir Recycling Corporation, together with Mayor Shmuel Boxer, came to visit the city's residents in their homes.

Reminder: What to throw in the orange bin?
· Food packaging: such as packaging of dairy products, vegetables, rice, pasta and more
· Cleaning packaging: such as spray containers, cleaning liquid, fabric softener and more
· Care and hygiene packaging: such as cosmetics, shampoos, wipes, creams and more
· Plastic bags
· Metal packaging: Such as cans, canned food, animal food, cleaning and hygiene packaging - such as deodorant, insecticide and more, baby food packaging
· Cartons: beverage cartons, milk cartons and milk substitutes, juice or cold drink cartons, cream cartons and more.

What not to throw in the orange bin?

"Preserving the environment and adopting a sustainable way of life are important to the residents of Ness Ziona," said Mayor Shmuel Boxer.
"The orange bins that have entered the city and joined our recycling centers have taken the local recycling revolution a significant step forward. We see that when recycling is made easy and convenient, recycling volumes increase because residents want and want to recycle. We will continue to work to enable city residents to preserve the environment."
The goal: Encouraging recycling
Apart from Ness Ziona, in July about 20 leading authorities will take part in the project, with the aim of encouraging more and more families to join the recycling revolution and separate packaging already at home.
To this end, Tamir Recycling Corporation has created recycling symbols that look like small bins in the various trash colors (orange, blue and purple).
The symbols can be found on thousands of packages at various points of sale and these make recycling much more accessible and clear.
The authorities participating in the project: Rishon Lezion, Or Yehuda, Netanya, Ramat Gan, Holon, Rehovot, Kiryat Motzkin, Lod, Ramla, Yavne, Ness Ziona, Kiryat Ono, Petah Tikva, Nesher, Sderot, Ganei Tikva, Shoham, Givat Shmuel, Afula and Raanana.
