Poing – After 50 years as chairman of the traditional association D'Poinger Bauernhochzeiter, Alois Moser has resigned from office.

He was honored by the members with minutes of applause at the annual general meeting and made an honorary member and honorary board member.

Moser's successor as 1st Chairman is Christian Heuberger, who will continue to act as Treasurer on an interim basis.

Anton Scherer is the 2nd chairman, Louis Moser is the secretary.

The board is completed by the assessors Florian Gerhard, Helmuth Steidl and Barbara Kätzner and the cash auditors Thomas Baumann and Edmund Müller.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.

The association organizes the Poinger Peasant Wedding every five years.

The next date is at carnival 2025. During the ceremony, which is not to be taken seriously, a "male bride" says yes to her loved one.

Marriage is traditionally over on Ash Wednesday.

Such peasant weddings have a very old tradition, the first took place in Poing as early as 1935 - at and in what was then the Liebhart tavern, which was located at Anzinger Straße 1.
