Ministry spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov said in a media briefing today that the Russian Air Force had struck in the Artyumovsk region of the Donetsk People's Republic, temporary deployment points, ammunition depots and military equipment for the 14th and 72nd platoons, as well as the 10th mountain attack platoon of the Ukrainian forces. to 350 personnel and destroy 20 armored combat vehicles.
"As a consequence, the soldiers of the 80th Airborne Brigade refused to participate in the hostilities and decided to withdraw en masse to the rear lines, and the command of the Ukrainian forces also issued an order to reduce the treatment time for wounded soldiers and send them without rehabilitation to compensate for the losses of units in the combat zones," Konashenkov added.
Konashenkov added that the acute shortage of personnel in front-line units forced the Kyiv regime to send neo-Nazi battalions to the front line, which were carrying out the tasks of preventing the retreat and defeat of Ukrainian soldiers.
Konashenkov explained that against the background of the military failures and the mass retreat of the Ukrainian forces in the Donbass, the Kyiv regime tried last night to symbolically raise the Ukrainian flag on the island of Zmenyi, where many Ukrainian soldiers disembarked from a motor boat and took pictures with the flag, and then the planes of the Russian Air Force launched a strike with high missiles The attack on the island led to the killing of a number of Ukrainian military personnel while the survivors fled towards the village of Primorsko in the Odessa region.
Konashenkov noted that the Russian armed forces continue to bombard military installations on the territory of Ukraine, and during the last 24 hours, with the high-precision weapons of the Russian Air Force, six command posts, arms and ammunition depots in the Donetsk People's Republic and Nikolaev were destroyed.
Konashenkov added that the operational and tactical aviation of the Russian forces shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter in the Nikolaev region and another Su-25 in the Adamovka region of the Donetsk People's Republic.
During the day, the Russian air defense systems also shot down 17 Ukrainian drones in Nikolaev, Kherson, Izyum, Nortsovka, Novoplatovka, Dibrovnoy and others. Six “Tochka O” ballistic missiles were intercepted in the suburbs of Kherson, Groshevka and Kharkov, and 12 multi-rocket launchers in Chernobayevka, Nikolayvzum and Glinzum and other Donetsk People's Republic.
Konashenkov stressed that since the beginning of the special military operation, a total of 234 aircraft, 137 helicopters, 1,479 unmanned aerial vehicles, 353 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,935 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 724 multiple launch vehicles, 3102 field artillery and mortars, as well as 4,064 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
