Geretsried's mayor Michael Müller wants to put pressure on the railways.
The extension of the S-Bahn line from Wolfratshausen is "absolutely necessary"
Geretsried – Geretsried Mayor Michael Müller (CSU) does not want to accept the renewed delay in the S-Bahn extension to his city, which has been planned for decades: “The only thing that helps is to really get going.” His Wolfratshausen colleague Klaus Heilinglechner (BVW) reacts similarly: "For our region, any delay in the S7 extension is a disaster." As reported, Minister of Transport Christian Bernreiter (CSU) admitted that the start of construction announced for 2024 could not be kept.
S7 extension to Geretsried delayed again: Mayor wants to "really make steam"
Rapid implementation of the project is "essential, especially for commuters from Geretsried," says Heilinglechner when asked by our newspaper.
Rising energy and fuel prices would intensify the whole thing.
"We also urgently need traffic relief on the local thoroughfares."
By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Wolfratshausen-Geretsried newsletter.
The mayor of Geretsried is also concerned with the energy and transport transition.
But how do you want to cope with this, “if you have procedures from years and decades?” said the head of the town hall in the main and finance committee on Tuesday evening after he had read the letter from Transport Minister Bernreiter to the committee on the status of the S7 extension.
S7 extension: Mayor of Wolfratshausen has "no understanding at all"
As an explanation for the delays, Bernreiter cites, among other things, the replanning of the Wolfratshauser station that was decided in 2015 - the tracks are to be routed through a trough under Sauerlacher Straße.
"It's completely clear that this complex project requires a certain amount of lead time," states Heilinglechner.
But in order to compensate for "possible construction delays and cost explosions" on the second main line in Munich, "I have absolutely no understanding for that," complains the head of town hall.
Minister of Transport expresses his opinion on the extension of the train to Geretsried - there are no comprehensible reasons
Bernreiter does not give any really understandable reasons in his letter.
His predecessor Kerstin Schreyer also kept a low profile on this point.
At the on-site visit in January in Geretsried - it was actually about the relocation of the B11 - Mayor Müller Schreyer asked why nothing was happening with the S7 extension.
"I just wanted to know: Why isn't it going any further?"
You don't know either, was the answer.
"We urgently need to think about how we can continue to build up pressure," he appealed to the city councillors.

In his eyes, only a joint action would help - with the city of Wolfratshausen, the district and the MPs that you want to mobilize.
Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) has committed to relocating the B11 and expanding the S-Bahn line.
But "Wissing will probably be history by the time we get to the next round of talks," mused Müller.
"And Mr. Bernreiter was certainly not the last transport minister to write us a letter." His parliamentary colleague Ewald Kailberth recalled the idea of a sit-in on the B11 during the meeting.
Müller: "Slowly I can make friends with the idea."
"Pro Bahn" complains about delays - "can't be"
The S7 extension should also finally be implemented for the passenger association per train.
"It is unacceptable that projects are pushed back again and again because of self-chosen problems," criticizes press spokesman Andreas Barth.
The federal government wants to double the number of passengers on the rails by 2030, "and then you won't be able to extend the tracks, although there is a broad consensus".
Barth expects the state government to set a “resilient schedule that will be adhered to”.
State politicians should not only commit themselves to the S7 with words – but also with deeds.
