When he was already on his way to Augsburg for the handover, an attentive bank employee called him and informed him that his daughter was fine and that he had been the victim of an attempt at fraud, according to the police.
Through courageous intervention, damage could be avoided.
After it became known, the specialist department of the Fürstenfeldbruck criminal police took over the investigation.
In order not to become a victim of such a scam, the police give the following tips:
1) Healthy distrust is not impolite!
2) The caller puts pressure on you?
That's part of the scam.
Just hang up.
3) The real police will never ask you for any fortune to conduct investigations!
4) Relatives request immediate financial help?
Be suspicious!
5) Never give money or jewelry to strangers!
6) If a caller is asking for money or other valuables: Discuss this with family members or others close to you.
