Special award: Municipality awards the Golden Ring of Honor three times

The community has recognized deserving councilors and bid farewell to former councillors.

Three of them received the highest award.

Ismaning - There has been a backlog of honors and farewells from Ismaninger municipal councils.

Normally this happens shortly before Christmas in the celebratory meeting of the municipal council, as a substitute there was now a celebratory evening in the citizens' hall, where the community reached deep into the box of the greatest honors.

"As is well known, the municipality of Ismaning is rather reluctant to give awards, but in special cases it is different, that's how we want to keep it today," said Mayor Alexander Greulich during the moderation of the presentation of the Golden Ring of Honor.

The municipal council decided to give this award to Luise Stangl, Johanna Hagn and Rudi Essigkrug.

Since Hagn was prevented, the triple honor became a double honor.

Today's 3rd Mayor Luise Stangl from the SPD and Rudi Essigkrug, the Spritus Rex of the Free Voters' Community, came to the municipal council in 1990.

For 30 years on the committee and special services to Ismaning, the two received the ring of honour.

In his laudation, Greulich emphasized that Stangl was also the chairwoman of the local SPD association and that she is passionate about organizing cultural events.

Essigkrug was the parliamentary group leader at the FW for a long time and was always a man of the direct word in the debates.

In her speech of thanks, Stangl emphasized that "I've learned a lot in my 32 years on the municipal council and the meetings have never been a chore".

With a view to the development of the community, she highlighted one project in particular: the purchase of the Seidlmühle and the associated creation of "a cultural center that is unparalleled in the district".

And she drew a positive conclusion for the community: "The compass for our well-being is set correctly."

Officially passed: Günter Glasner and Erna Christthaller sat on the municipal council until 2020.

The municipality also used the ceremony for the belated farewell to the council members who left the municipal council in 2020.

These are Alexander Novakovic, Günter Glasner, Erna Christthaller, Rainer Knäusl and Andreas Sellmayr, who died this year.

With the corona-related delay, the mayor thanked them for their commitment.

The CSU councilor Peter Aurnhammer, who has been a member of the committee since 2002, received the Golden Medal of Honor.

This year he is celebrating his 20th anniversary as a volunteer.

Mayor Greulich told all those honored that a lot had been achieved together in Ismaning and that major projects had been implemented.

The municipality gets the proof confirmed by the “Kommunal” association, which evaluated German municipalities on the basis of 67 factors.

Here Ismaning made it into the top ten in sixth place in the small towns.

"Such successes do not come by themselves," said Greulich.

And that's why this year, with three golden rings of honor, awards are also being handed out that are very rare.
