Wessobrunn's town hall boss Georg Guggemos has already held two town meetings, one of which only dealt with broadband expansion and the other only took place on the phone with the second mayor.

Now there was a real town meeting again.

Wessobrunn - Thus, the meeting in the Wessobrunn multi-purpose hall, which dealt with all topics across the monastery community, was a premiere.

And that in a double sense, since District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß was also a guest at a Wessobrunn town hall meeting for the first time.

She also took over the first part of the agenda after the welcome by the head of town hall.

"I'm glad that so many came," said Guggemos, looking at the around 120 people present, before Jochner-Weiss gave a small report about the district.

It covered everything from taking in Ukrainian refugees to construction work in schools and hospitals.

Health care then took center stage.

"A good infrastructure in this area will require a lot of effort for the next generation," she campaigned for the idea of the central hospital in the district.

Finally, she gave a word of praise.

"I am pleased that we finally have a good working relationship with Wessobrunn," said the district administrator.

The Guggemos report was entitled ZDF: numbers, data, facts.

He went into detail about the financial situation of the municipality.

"2021 was a difficult year with more expenses and less income," explained the mayor.

He then presented completed projects in Wessobrunn, which now has 2263 inhabitants.

Among them was the renewal of the server in the town hall.

"We are now technically up to date," he said, seeing the costs of a good 21,000 euros well spent.

The municipality spent around 50,000 euros on the renovation of the basement room in the Forst kindergarten.

"We achieved a good result with it," said Guggemos about the result, which created additional space for the children.

As in the previous year, the monastery spent a lot of money on youngsters.

The new fire station/club house in Forst, for which the first plans were presented, will also not be cheap.

The first cost estimate for this is 3.3 million euros.

"We are still looking for an operator for the wood chip heating system for the project," explained Guggemos, who is also looking for a successor to Christine Schütz, who ran the children's cinema in Forst and who is now retiring.

The mayor also reported on major projects such as the broadband expansion, the town hall conversion, which cost 1.23 million euros, the new construction area Templhoffeld in Forst and the monastery estate.

The municipality would like to get rid of the latter, which was criticized by some visitors after the honors in the question and answer session.

"The topic will be dealt with in the next municipal council meeting," Guggemos reported on the monastery estate.

In the meantime, the municipal councilors have filtered out two of four interested parties in a non-public meeting who are considered suitable to take over the loss-making project, for which the municipality had to shell out 125,000 euros.

The other questions revolved around the design of the forecourt of the multi-purpose hall.

"It's a junk room," complained Uli Klitzner.

But also the cars parked in some streets of Wessobrunn, the planned mobile phone mast in Forst/Guggenberg and the recently dormant citizen groups were discussed before the official part ended after a good two and a half hours.
