Ankara-Sana
The Turkish Defense Ministry announced today the killing of one of its soldiers and the wounding of three others in clashes in northern Iraq.
Anadolu Agency, the Turkish regime’s spokeswoman, quoted the regime’s Defense Ministry as saying in a statement that “one of its soldiers was killed during a clash with PKK militants in northern Iraq,” explaining that “the clash erupted in the area of the so-called Claw-al-lock operations that has been going on in the area since last April.”
In a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty, on the 18th of last April, the Turkish regime launched Operation “Claw of the Lock” against the strongholds of the PKK organization in the areas of Matina, Zab and Afshin Bassian in northern Iraq.
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry recently confirmed that the Turkish regime's military operations in Iraq are hostile and provocative, and constitute a blatant violation of Iraq's sovereignty and a threat to its territorial integrity, denying the existence of any coordination with it in this field.
