The remarks were made in a conversation initiated by Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed, who wanted to congratulate Lapid on taking over as prime minister.

UAE President Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed greeted Prime Minister Yair Lapid this evening (Thursday) upon taking office.

In their conversation, the two talked about expanding the circle of Abraham agreements to other countries in the region.

The President wished the Prime Minister success and stressed the continuing importance of the relationship between the peoples.

Prime Minister Lapid congratulated President Ben-Zayed on the occasion of the Feast of Sacrifice, which will begin on Saturday, and wished him "Adha Mubarak."

The two leaders also discussed the importance of strengthening the warm ties between the countries and expressed satisfaction with the developing tourism and economic ties.

Among other things, Lapid told the president that the personal trust between the leaders as well as the State of Israel's commitment to the Abrahamic Agreements and the continuation of the Negev Forum and its development into a permanent framework are a solid basis for excellent relations and strengthening prosperity and cooperation between countries.

Meanwhile, Ben Zayed and Lapid are expected to talk again next week, during President Biden's visit to Israel.

The Prime Minister and President of the United Arab Emirates will take part in a digital conference call attended by US President and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which aims to promote quadratic cooperation between the countries.

The statement at the end of the announcement by the Prime Minister's Office that "the two leaders discussed expanding the circle of Abrahamic agreements to other countries" probably refers to Saudi Arabia, which during Biden's visit is expected to announce an upgrade in relations between Israel and Israel. There have been recent reports of a possible upgrade in relations, after Israel had previously operated a diplomatic mission in the country.
