The US presidency announced that the director of the White House Information Office, Kate Bedingfield, has submitted her resignation and will leave her post soon.
"Beddingfield, who was one of the first to join the campaign for the Democratic candidate, has submitted her resignation and will leave her position at the end of July," the White House said in a statement carried by Agence France-Presse, adding that the reason for the resignation was her desire to spend time with her husband and their children.
"Without Bedingfield's talent and tenacity, Donald Trump might still be in the White House," White House Chief of Staff Ron Klein said, noting that she would continue to play a key role in advancing President Joe Biden's agenda from outside the White House.
Bedingfield's resignation comes at a time when Biden is suffering from a decline in his popularity and is under increasing criticism.
