Ten people, including two children, were killed and 11 injured in heavy rains and non-seasonal floods that swept the northern and eastern provinces of Afghanistan.

And the Associated Press quoted the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs as saying that the heavy rains that fell during the past two days killed 10 people, injured 11, and caused extensive damage to more than 280 homes, as well as damaging other vital infrastructure in nine counties.

The Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan said that as a result of heavy rains, floods and landslides in Nuristan province, the road from Kunar to central Nuristan was closed to traffic.
