On the run since the double murder committed on Monday and of which he is the main suspect, Cédric Tauleygne is actively sought by dozens of gendarmes. To no avail, so far.

Four days after the double murder of two teachers in Pouyastruc, in the Hautes-Pyrenees, the investigation continues to find the main suspect, still at large.

The national gendarmerie launched a call for witnesses this Friday, at the request of the investigating judge, in the hope of advancing the search.

Identified as Cédric Tauleygne, the fugitive is none other than the ex-husband of one of the two victims and father of her children.

Aged 35, this former soldier is described as an athletic person, measuring 1m75, with a shaved head and wearing glasses.

At the time of his escape on a motorbike, he was apparently dressed in blue jeans and a dark leather jacket.

"dangerous"

, according to the words of the public prosecutor of Tarbes, Pierre Aurignac.

The first investigations by the gendarmes of the Toulouse research section and the Tarbes research brigade quickly focused on the trail of a “passionate” crime.

During a press conference given on Wednesday afternoon at the Tarbes courthouse, the Tarbes prosecutor confirmed that "

the two victims had become closer emotionally for a few weeks as part of a school trip

".

And to add that “

Several dozen gendarmes have been mobilized to locate the suspect, in vain so far.

The sparrowhawk plan was also triggered and a group from the Toulouse branch of the GIGN mobilized on the spot.

Cédric Tauleygne is also being tracked by the police near Jaca, in the province of Aragon in Spain, where his motorcycle was found.

"He is wanted in the Jaca sector, in Spain, but also in our department and the neighboring departments"

, according to the prosecutor of Tarbes, who has since relinquished possession in favor of his counterpart in Pau.

In addition, a brief contact had been established with the suspect at the beginning of his run, but it was quickly broken.

At the time of the facts, Cédric Tauleygne would have arrived on a motorcycle at the level of the home of the first victim, a 55-year-old physical education teacher, to shoot him and his ex-wife.

The latter, who was 32 years old and who taught French at the Desaix college in Tarbes, was found late Monday afternoon lying in a street in Pouyastruc by neighbors who alerted the gendarmes.

Arrived on the spot, they also discovered the fifty-year-old, who died in his house, a few meters further.

Anyone with information likely to help the investigation progress is invited to contact the Toulouse research section at this toll-free number, accessible 24 hours a day: 05.62.
