Esther and Norbert Kurzmeier from Allershausen are "The Bear Makers".

With their "Flauschis" they make children's dreams come true.

Allershausen

- "Kuno Kuschelbär" is well received, but also "Charlie Wuff" and especially "Helmut Husky".

They all belong to the large family of cuddly toys that are born in Allershausen (district of Freising) to be adopted by children and found a loving home.

Esther and Norbert Kurzmeier are the inventors of a unique cuddly toy concept.

They are "The Bear Makers" and make children's dreams come true.

"Bärchenmacher" from Allershausen: Giving away time with children

According to the approach, the couple would like to offer the opportunity to “give away time with children”, as Norbert Kurzmeier puts it.

And that's why the bear makers don't have any ready-made stuffed animals that are usually given to little ones, but rather a kind of kit: First, there's the cover, affectionately known as "Flauschi".

They are available in dozens of variants - from unicorns to dinosaurs, from classic teddy bears to "daisy dolphins".

And even if the Fluffies come from abroad, what the Kurzmeiers have written at the top of their agenda also applies to them: sustainability and safety.

No strange smell, everything is child-friendly and safe.

Spoiled for choice: the cuddly toy family is very large, from “Daisy Delfin” to “Bulldog Bob”.

In order for the Fluffies to become cuddly toys, you need a filling.

This is included in the package of bears and must then be distributed by the children (and the adults) themselves in their fleece.

And already, according to the goal, the child has the feeling of having designed their own cuddly toy - a feeling that you don't have with a finished teddy bear.

"Bärchenmacher" from Allershausen: A wish heart is hidden in the filling

Then there is the wishing heart: the children should whisper a cherished wish into it, and the heart is then hidden deep in the fluffy stuffing.

Then tie and close - done.

No, not quite: the adoption certificate still needs to be filled out with the name that the children give their new darling and the signature with which one solemnly promises to always love the cuddly toy and to cuddle it several times a day.

Then the bear seal is glued on.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

With their kit cuddly toy concept, the Kurzmeiers are now not only present online, but can also be experienced “live”.

Because the stuffed animal filling machine, which they initially got from Denmark, has become the next big seller: The Kurzmeiers build the devices themselves, which look a bit like popcorn machines, refine them constantly, export them all over the world and use them as a matter of course also when "The Bear Makers" are on tour.

It is therefore important to the bear makers that all parts (including the boxes) meet a large number of standards and are certified.

"Bärchenmacher" from Allershausen: Actually, the Kurzmeiers have a bouncy castle rental

Something else is important to Esther and Norbert Kurzmeier: their cuddly toys don't make any sounds, there are no batteries, no "Disney things", as they call them.

No, the children should "build their own world" with their very own cuddly toy, let their imagination run wild.

The two entrepreneurs, who run a bouncy castle rental business as their main business, notice how central this is when adults and children stand together in front of the softies and have to make a choice.

"The ideas often differ widely," says Norbert Kurzmeier.

While adults tend to prefer the classic teddy bear, children are more attracted to "Manni Mammut", "Adler Horst" & Co.

Anyone who orders their box of fluffy & Co. online at baerchenmacher.de will have it sent to them for EUR 37.90, along with the instructions for use.

If you want, you can also pick up your cuddly toy kit for 32 euros in Allershausen.

Either way, you can give children time with the kit (the entire "Kuno Cuddly Bear", "Alphonso Monkey" or "whatever" campaign takes around 20 minutes).

And perhaps also an experience that the children will fondly remember as adults: "Do you remember...?"
