Prime Minister Yair Lapid spoke by telephone this evening (Saturday) with the King of Jordan, Abdullah II, and congratulated him and the citizens of the kingdom on the occasion of the Feast of Sacrifice.
King Abdullah congratulated Prime Minister Lapid
on taking office and wished him success. In the conversation, the two discussed the need to strengthen and deepen cooperation and relations between Israel and Jordan, the upcoming visit of US President Joe Biden and the regional challenges and opportunities.
His condolences on behalf of the Israeli government on the disaster of the toxic gas leak in the port of Aqaba, in which at least ten people were killed and at least 251 people were injured in the accident.
