We caught up with Wayne Griffith, President of Seat and Copra for a short chat during the opening of Copra Garage in Herzliya


What is Copra Gage and why did you choose that name?

Copra is another brand.

We want to prove that today's cars and electric cars in the future do not have to be boring, they can look good and be fun to drive and evoke emotion.

The garage is where it all begins.

We do not want showrooms but places where the brand can be felt.

We are opening such places in Israel, Europe and even Australia.

We want to be where our customers are and not necessarily in the area of ​​car dealerships.

We live motor sport both normal and electric and it connects to that word as well, garage.

In general, in order to make great cars, you need great engineers and great designers, and all these things, the ideas, are expressed at the end of the day in the garage.

How do you plan to translate this into the electric age?

The challenge in the electric age is significant.

All electric cars are fast, so the story is behavior.

Trams have a heavy and hard battery so the place where you can and should make a difference is to produce a fun sporty feel.

A big part of it is the suspensions, the calibration, the steering wheel and already in Born we did a great job.

She behaves excellently and conveys the right feelings.

The big change for us will be the Urban-Rebel where we will prove that an electric car can be attractive and very enjoyable to drive.

His cars will always be designed for the driver.

Are you aiming for Copra to be a premium or luxury brand of a new breed?

No.

We are not premium, we are not luxury.

We are up to date.

We are a brand new that caters to the next generation, who wants something different.

Those who do not want the cars their parents drove.

They do not want to prove anything because they are functioning in a new and different world of ambitions.

We are based on the present and the future and offer a whole new alternative.

Even when we do collaborations with other companies it will not necessarily be with well-known brands but more with companies that produce quality things and operate in the same approach.

What are your expectations regarding the scope of Copra's production in the coming years?

Copra is one of the fastest growing brands in the world.

Last year we sold about 80,000 cars, and we hope to double that this year, the demand there.

As we increase the supply the sales models will increase.

In 2024 there will be the Tuscan and will bounce sales.

And then the Urban-Rebel will arrive and further increase the amount of vehicles we produce.

And you also have to remember that in order to be a global brand, you need a worldwide presence.

I believe we will reach big markets like the US as soon as our offerings will have more models like the Twoscan, which fits the market requirements there.
