Plans to visit US President Joe Biden in Israel are changing following the Americans' request - Walla !.

The Americans' request stems from their desire to reduce travel ranges in the country and shorten schedules.

According to the planned schedule, the president was to visit the Palmach base, where he was to be introduced to the laser interception system.

Earlier today, police announced that Highway 1 would be closed Wednesday for about three to five hours ahead of US President Joe Biden's visit to Israel.

The road will be hermetically sealed about an hour before the entourage leaves, from the Shafirim Interchange to the Sakharov Interchange in both directions, and alternative roads will be available to the public.

As of this moment, it has been decided that the other deputies that were expected to be blocked will not be closed and that more than 16,000 police officers will be stationed across the country.

It was also reported that the main axis that will remain open at all hours of the visit will be in the south and north.

Access to Road 1 from Road 6 at the Ben Shemen Interchange and the Nesherim Interchange will also be blocked, and traffic will be diverted to Roads 44, 444 and Road 443.

At the same time, the Airports Authority announced that all international flights departing from Terminal 1 will be transferred to Terminal 3 starting on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.

Domestic flights departed from Terminal 1 without any change.

The recommendation of the Airports Authority is to arrive at Ben Gurion Airport via the Israel Railways starting at 13:00 on Wednesday afternoon.
