For the first time in 15 years, a budget surplus of about NIS 6.4 billion has been measured in the last 12 months - constituting about 0.4% of GDP.
This is the highest budget surplus measured since 1987.
Despite the impressive figure, in June a deficit of about NIS 1.5 billion was measured, after five months in which there was a budget surplus.
The Treasury emphasizes that the month of June is characterized by a high seasonal deficit.
For example, in June last year, a deficit of about NIS 8.9 billion was recorded.
Excluding corona expenses, the deficit was about NIS 4.1 billion.
State revenues since the beginning of the year amounted to NIS 241.2 billion, compared with NIS 193.8 billion in the corresponding period last year.
This figure reflects an increase of about 24.5% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Government expenditures since the beginning of the year amounted to about NIS 209.3 billion, of which about 3.9 billion were expenditures for the economic assistance program to deal with the corona crisis.
This figure reflects a decrease of 11.8% compared to the same period last year.
