Four in one go

The municipality of Pfaffenhofen celebrated a big party.

Because of Corona, no opening ceremonies had taken place for a long time.

That was all made up for on Saturday.

Four times.

Pfaffenhofen - Four in one go - after the inauguration ceremonies had not been able to take place for a long time due to the pandemic, Mayor Helmut Zech simply combined the events, and so last Saturday the municipality of Pfaffenhofen celebrated four major projects that could be completed: the new one Pedestrian and cycle path between Pfaffenhofen and the Glonntal bridge in Dietenhausen, the sewer renovation and Wagenhofen through road, the second phase of the Pfaffenhofen village renewal and of course the new fire station in Pfaffenhofen, which was put into operation last spring.

Costs for all four projects: around 4.5 million euros.

Of this, the municipality had to shoulder 2.5 million euros, the rest could be cushioned by support measures.

Especially with the new fire station, a lot of money was saved by doing it yourself.

Commander Christian Tratz could not even count how many hours had been put in by the members of the fire brigade, but also by other volunteers.

Because that would have gone beyond the scope.

The incredible voluntary commitment, the good cooperation with the municipal administration and of course the subsidies made it possible for the costs for the new building to remain under one million euros.

A real feat considering the size and modern technology of the building.

"When we looked at other houses and I said that we wanted to stay under a million, we were smiled at a bit," Tratz recalled in his speech.

District Fire Councilor Franz Bründler not only praised the muscle strength, but also the "brain power" of Christian Tratz and his team.

Because it was not only tackled physically, but also a lot of planning was done on a voluntary basis.

Such as the preparation of a fire brigade requirement plan, for which municipalities often commission external offices and the preparation of which means a five-digit sum of costs for the municipality, as Mayor Zech calculated.

According to Commandant Tratz, who offered tours of the new building on the day of the inauguration, the new fire station corresponds to a passive house and is energetically self-sufficient.

Everything is interconnected and optimized.

In view of the war situation in Ukraine and the associated energy problems, Tratz clearly reminded those present how important this is in today's situation.

This is how the Pfaffenhofen an der Glonn volunteer fire brigade can move out and help at any time.

A point that the member of parliament Bernhard Seidenath, one of the guests of honor along with numerous guests from politics, associations and clubs, emphasized and thanked the fire brigade for "being there for us day and night and we can sleep so peacefully".

He also passed on this compliment to the Johanniter and helpers on site.

But he also emphasized the importance of the new footpath and cycle path.

Not only that you can do without the car more often, cycling is "also healthy", according to Seidenath.

Mayor Helmut Zech emphasized that.

Unfortunately, there is always one particularly big hurdle when it comes to realizing new footpaths and cycle paths in the municipality - the acquisition of land.

Because without the cession of land, you can't get any further as a community.

"The community is sane for me all together," Zech appealed and received support from Deacon Michael Popfinger, who blessed all four projects together with Pastor Lisa Bühler from Friedensinsel.

It is living Christianity to act actively for the community and not just to pray in church on Sundays, although this is also important.

The new pedestrian and cycle path has been very well received so far.

"The school children are now also using the path," the head of the community announced happily.

The Wagenhofen village community also received extra praise from Zech.

Christian Lampl took care of the physical well-being with Bavarian delicacies, the firefighters managed the drinks trolley and organized part of the children's program, which was also supported by the municipal children's homes and the Johanniter.

The Odelzhausen brass band provided the musical accompaniment.
