(CNN) --
World No. 3 Novak Djokovic defeated Australian Nick Kyrgios to win his seventh career Wimbledon singles title and 21st Grand Slam at the All England Club on Sunday.
Djokovic, who participated in the 32nd men's Grand Slam final, won in four sets 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(3) on center court.
Kyrgios was competing in his first individual grand final.
The Serb claimed his fourth consecutive Wimbledon crown and became only the fourth man to win four consecutive Wimbledon championships in the Open Era (Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer).
The 35-year-old leads Federer for second place on the all-time list of most Grand Slam men's singles titles and is one behind the record set by Rafael Nadal (22).
