The Turkish newspaper Al-Sabah reported this morning (Sunday) on new details about one of the Iranian assassination squads captured in Istanbul.

According to the report, the squad consisted of eight Iranian citizens.

An investigation by the Turkish intelligence organization and local police revealed that members of the group arrived in Istanbul separately on different dates and met secretly.

They were then registered at the hotel as a Chinese group.

It was also reported that members of the assassination squad were staying at a hotel with Israelis before they were apprehended.

According to the publication, one of the Iranian suspects acted to purchase a motorcycle from a citizen in Istanbul.

The citizen who sold the motorcycle said he was called from a foreign number for the purchase.

In addition, the Turkish newspaper reported that eight members of the Iranian assassination squad were captured in an operation that took place on June 16.

Subsequently, it was alleged that the members of the squad planned a shooting attack and obtained weapons in order to carry it out.

It was also reported that the group was assisted by local assistants.

The Turkish newspaper reported that the detainees were members of the intelligence services impersonating foreign students as well as Quds Force members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
