Last month we reported to you that the Israeli team on the counter-strike qualified for the European Championships, which took place last weekend in Oradea, Romania.

The team consisted of players Sheeran Shushan Shoshan, Mori MOREE Mizrahi, Maoz BluePho3nix Paz, Tal Meztal Khayashvili, and Guy Anarkez Trachtman (Team Finest).

Complementary actors are Dorian XertioN Berman (MOUZ NXT), Dawn FlameZ Lily (OG), and Nikita HeavyGod Martinenko.

The team was accompanied by professional coach Daniel sprayxd Cogan from the Mexican e-sports club ATK.

Unfortunately, the team was eliminated in the quarterfinals against the Ukrainian team, which is considered a particularly tough team.

The team opened the competition at the home stage and was drawn along with Norway, Montenegro and Romania.

The first round opened with Israel facing Romania, while Norway faced Sweden.

The team was defeated by the Romanians with a result of 16:11 and went down to the losers' house.

While the team faced Montenegro there and managed to win 2: 0, Norway managed to defeat Romania and it turned out that Israel faced them again.

In the return round our team managed to come out with its upper hand and the team won the first map chosen by the Romanians (Nuke), but already in the second round in the second map (Infreno) it seemed that they were on their way to another loss.

It seemed out of the question and the motivation to win was high, and with a result of 14: 6 the team managed to win an impressive 19:17 that also ousted the Romanians and secured their place in the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals, the Israelis faced the Ukrainian team, which was in a good mental state and came prepared, and our Israelis lost respectably with a result of 2: 0.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian players are professional players who receive funding for their game in contrast to the Israeli players, who are forced to maneuver between working in life and their playing career.

On the final day there was a showcase of players from Romania against selected players from the rest of the competition, and there the Israeli Shiran Shushan Shoshan was also chosen to play, with sprayxd Kogan, the team coach, accompanying them on stage to defeat (again) the Romanian team.

Gil Ronen

, director of the team for the Association for Competitive Gaming in Israel: "In 2021 at the World Championships held in Eilat (which was also broadcast on the gaming channel, 61 on Partner, 63 on Cellcom, and 66 on HOT) we did not qualify for the 2022 European Championship. With the exception of Daniel (sprayxd coach) and Guy (anarkez, a player at the Israeli e-sports club FINEST), the team players are forced to work in the industry part-time and in their free time while holding other jobs because it is currently impossible to make a living from it in the country

. "Teams with full-time professional players, an obvious achievement and I hope this will lead to the recognition of competitive gamers as full-time athletes. We are optimistic and ready for the team's next challenge. The 2022 World Championship will be held in December in Bali, Indonesia."
