The third Grand Slam of the year will close with the confrontation between Nick Kyrgios and Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon.

And should Djokovic be crowned champion, the Serb would be one Grand Slam title away from tying Rafael Nadal.

At the moment, this is how the Grand Slam titles go between these three current tennis legends:

The Spanish Rafael Nadal is the male tennis player with the most Grand Slam titles.

In January 2022 he got his 21st recognition at the Australian Open and thus surpassed Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, who have 20 each, and then won the Roland Garros again, the 22nd Grand Slam.

The 36-year-old has won 14 Roland Garros titles, four US Open titles, two Wimbledon titles and two Australian Open titles in his career, making him only the second man in the Open Era to win each of all four Grand Slams twice.

The first to achieve that feat was Djokovic by achieving his second Roland Garros.

However, the Spaniard had to withdraw from Wimbledon due to pain that almost forced him not to finish the quarterfinal match.

Djokovic in the Wimbledon final

Novak Djokovic will face Australian Nick Kyrgios in the final on Sunday in search of his fourth consecutive title and the seventh in his career at Wimbledon.

And Wimbledon will probably be Djokovic's last Grand Slam of the year due to the covid-19 vaccine regulations in the United States.

  • Novak Djokovic advances to the final and will seek his fourth consecutive Wimbledon title

"I would love to go to the United States, but as of today it is not possible. There is not much I can do anymore, I mean it is really up to the US government to make the decision whether or not to allow unvaccinated people to enter in the country," Djokovic said.

If he wins tomorrow's final, Djokovic would accumulate 21 Grand Slam titles, leaving Roger Federer behind, who is planning his return, confirming earlier this year that he will play in the Laver Cup in September and in the Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel (Switzerland) in October.
