A man in his 50s drowned today (Monday) in front of Betzet Beach in the village of Rosh Hanikra in the north, when he tried to rescue a girl from the water.

He was pulled from the sea, and medical crews who arrived at the scene performed resuscitation operations on him and evacuated him in critical condition to a hospital.

The girl did not need treatment.

Paramedics Dor Vaknin and Shlomi Yehudai said: "When we reached the beach, civilians led us to a man who was unconscious with no pulse and no breathing. We were told that he went into the sea to rescue a girl and nature. Take him to the hospital while continuing to perform resuscitation operations when his condition is critical. "
