This year, 326 young women and men successfully completed their vocational or high school diploma at the vocational high school and technical high school in Holzkirchen.

Now they were ceremoniously dismissed.

Holzkirchen

– "History is being written right now: your story." When deputy headmistress Ingeborg Schier welcomed graduates and guests of honor to the graduation ceremony of the vocational high school and technical high school in Holzkirchen on Friday, she opened a ceremony with a relaxed atmosphere.

From the extraordinary musical framework, in which Jonathan Voggenreiter, among others, impressed on the piano with "Take Five", to the speeches, the program was laid-back.

The focus was on a song: "Lieder" by Adel Tawil, which was one of the pieces that Lisa-Marie Kothe, Voggenreuther, Tim Öhler and Martin Mattner had chosen from the school band.

When he read in the program that one of his favorite songs was being performed, he watched the video clip with his wife, headmaster Michael Hüttl said.

"Two hours later we felt 20 years younger and it was clear: a new speech was needed." The song reminded him which songs were important to him in his youth.

Curt Cobain's request "Come as you are" stuck, and that's exactly what the headmaster wrote in his alumni's register.

There for each other in difficult times

“You guys are great!” Hüttl stated and backed this up with examples from the school days that were coming to an end.

He was impressed by how persistent and ambitious they had fought their way through the difficult times caused by the pandemic.

No less how "unprejudiced and open" he experienced them, how "funny and full of life", but also how "sympathetic and there for each other" when they lost someone from their midst.

So he let her go confidently.

“I know for a fact that you are well prepared for the time to come.

You are brave and level-headed.

And you can get loud.”

District administrator Olaf von Löwis gave the graduates a saying from childhood days: "And if you think it's no longer possible, a little light comes from somewhere." That has always come true, he said.

And advised to be curious and confident, this releases positive thoughts and strength.

"Lots of joie de vivre", wished Isabell Maldener-Stolz as a representative of the parents' council: "You have shown that you can quickly do things differently if you want and have to." The former headmaster Josef Schlemmer preferred to quote kicker celebrities as a representative of the association than the songs of his youth.

Maximilian Lorenz spoke for the students.

Amusing, with pointed side swipes and practical tips for the future.

He thanked headmaster Hüttl for his always open ear for ideas and suggestions - apart from the rejected application for a company car for the student representative.
