Coyote introduces new features

2022-07-11T17:25:32.741Z

NEWS - Members of the Coyote community can now report a speed limit change directly to their support.

At the time of the first departures on vacation, this is news that will delight motorists and more particularly the 1.3 million members of the Coyote community in France (5 million in Europe).

The driving aids assistant has been enriched with new functions in order to respond to speed limit variations which have become a major factor in minor speeding (less than 10 km/h).

Last year, a survey showed that 79% of French people had doubts about the speed limit in force on the roads they were taking.

It must be said that the public authorities have done everything to cover their tracks and trap motorists: on the same stretch of road, it is not uncommon to see speed limits play yo-yo and alternate between 70, 80, 90 and 110 km/h.

Decided by Édouard Philippe during the first five-year term of Emmanuel Macron, the reduction of the speed to 80 km / h on the majority of departmental roads has added complexity since, since, 42 departments have decided to iron certain sections of roads at 90 kph.

This therefore concerns 27,000 km of roads.

It's not nothing.

Similarly, the proliferation of 30 km/h zones in towns can also be a source of error.

Coyote

Anxious to offer reliable, up-to-date and real-time service to members of its community, whether users of the Apple Car Play or Android Auto compatible mobile application or connected devices, Coyote has developed a new feature allowing subscribers to report a change in the speed limit directly from its support.

Motorists can thus directly use their smartphone application or device to enter the speed limit on the section they are taking.

For ease of operation, the screen displays the various speed limit signs.

Just click on the right panel and confirm.

You can then specify whether the speed is temporary or permanent.

“The information will then be analyzed and validated using our algorithms but also our database.

It is not impossible either that we send a Coyote team on site to validate the information,” explains Laurent Le Toriellec, product and services manager at Coyote.
