A spokesman for the CFS said that the CFS received a notification from the European Commission's Food and Feed Rapid Alert System (EWS) that the above-mentioned Häagen-Dazs products were found to contain ethylene oxide, a pesticide banned in the EU.

Upon learning of the incident, the CFS immediately contacted the local importer for follow-up. Preliminary investigation found that the above-mentioned importer had imported the affected batch of the product concerned.

The above-mentioned importers have taken the affected batches of products off the shelves and suspended sales in accordance with the instructions of the CFS, and started recalling them.
