Maria Steinbauer and Anton Huber were honored with the Patetten Citizens' Medal.

Successful school graduates also received an award.

Pastetten

– The community of Pastetten has two new Citizen Medalists.

In the citizens' meeting, local chief Peter Deischl awarded Maria Steinbauer and Anton Huber with it.

There were also certificates for four young adults who had particularly good grades in their diplomas.

Maria Steinbauer: Engaged in refugee aid

Maria Steinbauer was awarded the Bronze Citizen's Medal for her voluntary work in supporting refugees.

She also received this award on behalf of many other helpers in refugee aid, explained Deischl and named around 20 other names.

"The tasks were unimaginably difficult," the mayor looked back.

"It was said: 'We can do it'.

But who did it?

You did it,” he recalled around the year 2015. The volunteers helped to fill out asylum applications, organize living together in the facilities, and were present at visits to the authorities and doctors.

But they also settled disputes, repaired bicycles and organized strollers.

"You kept in touch with the people and also represented them to the community," praised Deischl.

Through the committed action and the willingness to help, a positive mood was created, which is also noticeable.

"I bow to this achievement," said the mayor.

In her words of thanks, Steinbauer indicated that the refugees in Harthofen still get the support they need today.

Anton Huber: "Career in all things"

Anton Huber was also awarded the bronze citizen's medal.

"He has rendered outstanding service to the community with a high level of social commitment in the village community," Deischl explained this decision.

Huber started as a sacristan in 2005 and took care of the church and everything that goes with it with “taste and intuition”.

He still does that today as a deputy sacristan with great commitment.

From 2006 to 2016, as a member of the church administration, he was “a wise decision-maker” and contributed his extensive knowledge.

And the fact that Huber was employed by the municipality from 2006 to 2020 can still be seen today on the wonderfully designed forecourt of the town hall.

Even as a school way helper he is still active.

"You always get involved when you are needed, you take care of everything," said Deischl.

But Huber brought his very special heart and soul into the care of the Lourdes chapel, which is well-known beyond the city limits, "it bears your signature".

The twins Raphaela and Alina Spitzl as well as Valentin Wenzl (from 2nd from left) were honored for their excellent degrees.

Mayor Peter Deischl and Deputy Mayor Roswitha Bayer-Siegling congratulated them warmly.

The certificates were presented to Valentin Wenzl for a grade point average of 1.1 at the Schloss Neubeuern high school and to Michael Renner for a final grade of 1.83 at the Lena-Christ-Realschule Markt Schwaben.

Raphaela Spitzl was honored with a grade of 1.16 and her twin sister Alina with an incredible 1.0 on the certificate of the Heilig Blut girls' secondary school in Erding.
