"Whenever I go on cruises and operational activities, I think of my grandfather and his legacy," says Dana Rozman proudly, and this is no coincidence: the soldier's grandfather was the late Mordechai Rozman, the leader of the illegal immigrants at Exodus.
Dana was born in the USA and grew up in Los Angeles. Every summer she used to come to Kibbutz HaOgen, where Grandpa Mordechai lived, and would eagerly swallow his stories: how he escaped from the Nazis, arrived in France, boarded the Exodus and was captured by the British with 4,554 illegal immigrants. After the establishment of the state, Mordechai immigrated to Israel and was one of the founders of Kibbutz HaOgen.

Dana's father served in Squadron 13, and Dana joined the sea.
At the age of 18, she immigrated to Israel alone as part of Garin Zabar and chose to serve in the Fin unit.
