Donald Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon could now testify in court.
Washington DC - The committee on the attack on the US Capitol is now expecting a testimony from Steve Bannon, according to its own statements.
Committee member Zoe Lofgren told
CNN
that a message had been received from Bannon's attorney that his client would testify.
"Of course, the committee hasn't had a chance to discuss this, but I expect to hear from him and we have a lot of questions for him." .
CNN
, citing a letter Trump sent to Bannon, reported that the former president had revoked the office privilege that prevented Bannon from speaking on government affairs.
From the point of view of the committee of inquiry, however, the privilege would not have exempted Bannon from the obligation to appear before the panel anyway.

Bannon was charged with contempt of Congress in November 2021 for ignoring a punitive subpoena from the committee.
He was also accused of failing to provide requested documents.
