The Magistrate's Court in Acre today (Thursday) once again extended the detention of Wallaa Rubin Khalaila, the suspect in the murder of the young woman Sapir Nahum.
"We are in the very last line," said police spokesman Shahar Fran, "there are cutting facts and there is a solid evidentiary basis for the murder of the suspect. The evidentiary puzzle is being completed."
Police have requested that Khalaila's detention be extended for the seventh time.
This is for the purpose of completing an investigation required by the State Attorney's Office.
The judge demanded that within the time allotted for the extension of detention, the police complete all that was necessary to complete the investigation.
At the entrance to the hall, Khalaila said that "everything is fine."
Defense counsel said during the hearing that "what is happening in this case is something that has no place in a reformed state. He was arrested Saturday night on the way to a hospital with his mother and has since been detained, innocent of any crime."
He noted that Khalaila had requested a polygraph examination, claiming that only some of the details in the investigation were leaked, while publishing his criminal record.
