"Distract, distract": Meghan Markle's confidante accuses the palace of tactics

He suspects tactics behind the bullying allegations against Meghan.
LONDON - The Palace's coverage is not accidental, writes Omid Scobie, 41, the journalist who wrote the flattering biography Finding Freedom about Meghan Markle, 40, and Prince Harry, 37, on Yahoo News.
Queen Elizabeth II's (96) motto "never complain, never explain" may be a thing of the past, but a different strategy is now being pursued within the institution: "distract and distract," he writes.
Omid Scobie's column has a provocative title: "Do They Think We're Stupid?"
The palace covers controversy with gossip and distraction.
Both the "breathtakingly high, taxpayer-funded expenses" in the financial report and Prince Charles (73) accepting large monetary donations are immediately from Meghan's bullying rumors on the one hand, and the touching report on the first meeting between Charles and his granddaughter Lilibet (1) on the other "been superimposed"

The update investigating Meghan's bullying allegations came "at a suspicious time," Scobie said.
He said: "At a time when transparency is vital for all public officials, the days when the royal family could hide transgressions or mistakes are long gone." That is why the institution would have resorted to red herrings in times of crisis.

Royal commentator Richard Eden (63) was apparently annoyed by Omid Scobie's column and launched a counterattack.
He also resorted to public provocation, tweeting inquiringly, "Is there any royal correspondent who seems to hate the #RoyalFamilly more than #PrinceHarry and #Meghan's cheerleader Omid Scobie?"
Scobie sticks to his theory and ends his report with a bleak outlook for the future.
It's time for a new strategy, but since Prince Charles has just replaced his head of communications with an editor who comes from the Daily Mail, he doesn't see much hope.
In a legal dispute with the British newspaper group "Associated Newspapers", Meghan had recently won a victory for manipulation.
