Defense Minister Bnei Gantz today (Tuesday) approved the transfer of additional equipment to Ukrainian rescue forces.
This is the second shipment of combat equipment that Israel transfers to Ukraine, and this time too it is only defensive equipment that is at least officially intended only for civilian organizations.
However, the current shipment includes more sophisticated equipment than that shipped in the first shipment.
The Ukrainians will be provided with 1,500 helmets, 1,500 protective vests, hundreds of protective suits for mine clearance, as well as a thousand IQ masks and dozens of IQ filtering and purification systems.
The equipment was purchased by the Director of Procurement at the Ministry of Defense (Ministry of Defense), and will be delivered in the coming weeks through the unit of the International Transport Commission.

The first shipment included only 2,000 helmets and 500 vests, and was also sent only after heavy Ukrainian pressure and criticism of Israel around the world for refusing to join the effort of Western countries and supply the Ukrainians with weapons.
Israel has adhered to this position since the beginning of the war, and even refused to transfer to Ukraine defensive combat systems such as the Iron Dome.
The main reason for this is the fear of restricting the IDF's freedom of action in Syria, where Russia has a significant military presence.
