For this reason, the managing director of the trading company from Berlin must now answer before the district court of Nuremberg.
He had sold such a hemp oil with THC at the 2019 senior fair.
Specifically, these are oils with the active ingredient CBD (cannabidiol) - such oils are used by users to treat pain and insomnia, among other things.
The oils are also said to have partly contained the active ingredient THC.
THC is the chemical that induces the high in cannabis products.
On average, marijuana sold on the black market contains about 10 percent THC.
According to the public prosecutor, the THC content in the oils sold at the fair was up to almost two percent.
The THC content of the products makes them fall under the Narcotics Act, the prosecutor argues.
However, even products that do not contain THC fall under the Medicines Act and require a prescription.
The main defendant told the
Hemp Journal
that he thought law enforcement's actions were disproportionate.
In addition to the managing director of the trading company, an employee is also accused.
