Cindy from the "Hartz und Herzen" film location in Rostock shares the same fate - her daughters are also in the care of the youth welfare office.
She lives in a 3-room apartment and has her children with her on weekends and holidays.
When her offspring Mia and Luca are visiting, Valeska often has her hands full.
After separating from her ex-boyfriend, Valeska was overwhelmed with the upbringing of her children and sought help from the youth welfare office of her own accord.
She gets 300 euros per month from Hartz IV. Since Mia and Luca have been living in the supervised facility, the 30-year-old has only received part of the child benefit and maintenance advance.

It doesn't seem to bother Valeska that she now gets less money from the authorities, because she allows herself her luxury despite the tight budget: "I'll definitely spend 100 euros on cigarettes [...] and for lip injections," says Valeska in the first episode of "Hartz und Herzen" from Trier-West.
In Mannheim, too, the "Hartz und cordial" participants treat themselves to one or two luxury items.
When she talks about her finances with her good friend Sush, he discovers that Valeska allows herself the luxury of her beauty treatment, but has not set up any savings accounts for her children.
"My ex has a savings book for my daughter," reveals the 30-year-old on the RTLZWEI show - her son Luca, on the other hand, goes away empty-handed.

Valeska has already made it clear to her offspring that they cannot make big leaps because of the small family budget: "My children know that I now have much less income than I had before because I already told them: Just like before we can't do that anymore," the mother of two continued.
Her eldest son reacted with a lot of understanding to her mother's money confession: "My daughter said: I actually wanted to buy something, but because you have less money, you don't have to buy me anything - my family is more important to me".
