Ski racer Lena Dürr and state parliament president Ilse Aigner were guests at Gut Schloss Sulzemoos.

Sulzemoos - Under the motto "ambitious, successful, female", the district associations of the Women's Union (FU) Dachau and Fürstenfeldbruck invited to their first summer reception at Gut Schloss Sulzemoos on Friday.

Prominent guests were Ilse Aigner, President of the Landtag, and ski racer Lena Dürr.

Previously, they had invited to the reception separately and at the beginning of each year.

Because there are so many such events, they are nothing special, said Ramona Fruhner, chairwoman of the Dachau FU district association.

Last summer the idea of a joint summer reception came up.

With that, Brucker Chairwoman Claudia Huber hoped that they would also be “on the safe side” with regard to Corona.

With blue skies and sunshine, around 100 guests got together comfortably and quickly got into conversation.

Numerous political representatives, including the district administrators of both districts, Stefan Löwl and Thomas Karmasin, and the state parliamentarians Bernard Seidenath and Benjamin Miskowitsch, accepted the invitation.

In favor of a relaxed, summery atmosphere, the organizers had refrained from long speeches and interviewed their two guests of honor, Ilse Aigner (CSU), President of the Landtag (CSU) and ski racer Lena Dürr, about their lives and careers.

Ilse Aigner talked very openly about her experiences in everyday political life.

The CSU politician remembers the train accident in Bad Aibling in 2016 and the EHEC scandal in 2011, in which 54 people lost their lives, as the most touching and formative events.

For weeks, the cause was sought with a lot of "criminal instinct".

"That was very formative, because you feel so helpless," recalled the Federal Minister of Agriculture at the time.

Ilse Aigner openly admitted that life in such a leading position also has its downsides.

In times of modern media, malicious verbal attacks are becoming more frequent.

Nevertheless, she still enjoys actively fighting for democracy.

That is more important today than ever.

Ski racer Lena Dürr's enjoyment of her job was also evident in her interview.

Although she has now been active in professional sports for 15 years, the 30-year-old still feels it is a privilege to be able to live out her passion.

Even if “dad didn’t want it at all at first” because, as a former ski racer, he knew how tough the job was.

When asked about doping, Lena Dürr explained that skiing is such a complex sport that, thank God, doping doesn't play a role.

Modern media have also found their way into doping control.

An app on her cell phone constantly monitors her whereabouts.

There are controls not only at the competitions, but all year round: "It doesn't matter whether you're on vacation or at home.

You always know where I am and you can come by anytime.”

The most beautiful moments in her sporting life are when she can go skiing as a private person without sponsor clothing: "That brings me back and shows me why I'm doing this with professional sport," says Lena Dürr.

The President of the State Parliament particularly praised the "casual format" of this summer reception.

That is what politics needs to become attractive.

When everyone raised their glass of toast to "us women", the men "who support us" were not forgotten either.

Ramona Fruhner toasted her husband Markus, who had taken on the sound engineering that evening, and Emanuel Staffler, who represented his wife, Katrin Staffler (Member of the Bundestag).

She had to cancel at short notice due to important votes in Berlin.

"So you see me here tonight in the Prince Philip role," Staffler said with a wink.

At the end of the event, one can assume that the two FU district associations will put their plans into practice and that the summer reception will have a permanent place in the calendar of district politics in the future.
