The Masarati Youth Training Center of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor in Homs attracts young men and women in its headquarters in the Al-Waer neighborhood of the city, with the aim of providing them with skills and scientific and practical experience through the implementation of a set of free qualification courses that help them enter the labor market.

The number of registered persons in the first rehabilitation sessions of the center reached about 500 young men and women since its launch in the middle of last month, according to the Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Homs, Samar Al-Mustafa, who explained to SANA Youth that the center was sabotaged during the war and with the efforts of civil society, businessmen and the Chambers of Industry and Commerce, it was rehabilitated Under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, in cooperation with the Directorate, the European Institute for Cooperation and Development, and UNICEF, about a year ago, it was the first center to train young people in several professions that help them enter the labor market.

In turn, Fatima Mishlab, director of the center, indicated that two English language and computer driving courses have been opened since the middle of last month, with the start of work at the center and the provision of qualified cadres for training by the European Institute for Cooperation and Development, so that the rest of the courses can start.

She pointed out that the center receives young people from 14 to 24 years old and includes 6 vocational training halls equipped with the latest means, as the courses include (computer maintenance, solar energy, home electricity, life skills, English language and computer), and at the end of it the trainee receives a certificate certified by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and the organization of the institute. The European Union for Cooperation and Development, pointing out that other courses may be held in the future, such as nursing, barbering and beauticians.

Amin Al-Assaad, the English language trainer at the center, pointed out the importance of training students interactively through dialogue to enable them to possess English language skills and use them easily through conversation to invest their experiences in study and the labor market.

The trainer in the computer leadership course at the center, Rafah Kasuha, indicated that young people are trained on all computer driving programs to help them enter the labor market, and these courses are well received by young people.

A number of young trainees expressed the importance of these courses in refining their knowledge and enhancing their skills in the English language and computer leadership. Fatima emphasized that she has a passion for learning English conversation and found the center’s courses an opportunity to achieve this, while (Omar Al-Khail, Fahd Al-Humaidi and Jawad Al-Khalil) pointed out the importance of mastering English language and computer use to enter the labor market.

Also (Abdul Rahman Faza, Hamza Al-Hafiz and Hakima Al-Agha) pointed out that every young man should have a computer driving certificate as it enhances his skills and academic experience during the university level and helps him in the future to get a job opportunity.
