Principal Xu Jian said that the school-based STEM curriculum designs different activities according to the abilities of students in each grade, so that students can connect abstract programming concepts with real life, so as to improve students' creative thinking, problem-solving, logical programming and collaboration skills, so that Students develop more well-rounded and solid foundations for meeting the challenges of the 21st century.
Micro:bit Tongyong AI Programming Professional Certification
The school has received strong support from the "Bairen Fund" to promote the Micro:bit AI popularization curriculum plan, allowing students to use Scratch 3.0 to connect Micro:Bit microelectronic boards and sensors, use programming (Coding) language, control physical operations, and abstract programming. Connect with the real world and enhance students' creative thinking skills.
The school is also committed to promoting STEM education and sharing learning and teaching achievements, and was awarded the professional certification of Micro:bit Champion School.
Programmers inspire the curiosity of future scientists
The school and BOC Life co-organized the "BOC Life Xiaocai Smart Programmer" activity. Through learning programming, students' logical thinking and mathematical concepts were strengthened, and their ability to solve problems was trained.
Knowledge of financial management, financial technology and recycling is also added, so that students can cultivate the concept of correct financial management and environmental protection from an early age.
In the class, the students successfully made upcycled robots, mechanical toys and mobile applications, allowing students to find more fun in technology and creativity.
Creative thinking 3D printing creates sustainable cities
The "Little City Designer" program jointly organized by the school and ARUP Arup Engineering mainly allows students to learn 3D printing skills.
In addition to learning 3D printing skills, students also interacted with engineers and architects to learn about the applications of sensors and smart city facilities in daily life, making it easier for students to understand abstract STEM concepts, and arousing students' curiosity to observe the surrounding environment. to raise awareness among school children of community issues.
The course allows students to use relevant software to construct different famous buildings, and after mastering the skills, through the creative thinking of students, design a creative and community-friendly city three-dimensional model.
Popular science study spells out the champion in Hong Kong
This year, three fourth graders participated in the FIRST® LEGO® League Explore Hong Kong selection competition and won the overall championship.
The FIRST® LEGO® League Explore competition is a platform for primary school students aged 6 to 10 to display and communicate their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) works.
The student representatives performed very well in this competition. The students could not only explore how to increase citizens' interest in sports, but also build LEGO models through building, programming, testing and improvement skills.
Students can communicate with professional judges fluently and confidently when displaying their designed and installed Sports R Us @TKO works, and finally stand out from many competition teams in Hong Kong and win the overall championship of FIRST LEGO League Explore and Challenge Program Award.
