A car started to burn in the garage of a remote residential building near Ottenhofen on Wednesday evening.
The family with three children who lives next door didn't notice anything at first.
A witness took her out of the house.
Ottenhofen - It was around 7.15 p.m. when the witness noticed the smoke coming from the garage attached to the house in Stocker vei Ottenhofen.
He checked and found that the parents were still inside with their three children.
Until then they had not noticed the impending danger.
The flames quickly spread to the roof.
Everyone immediately went outside.
A little later, a large contingent of fire brigades from the districts of Erding and Freising, several ambulances, an emergency doctor and the Erding police arrived.
Ottenhofen's Mayor Nicole Schley also came to the scene of the accident.
The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire quickly.
Doctors and paramedics took care of the visibly shocked family.
As a precaution, the mother was hospitalized with suspected smoke inhalation.
Schley learned on the spot that the family could probably stay in the house.
The fire is believed to have broken out due to a technical defect in the car.
The Kripo Erding determined.
The damage is in the five-digit range.
