An "Israel of the Week" investigation to be published tomorrow reveals that a number of Israeli left-wing organizations (Jewish and Arab) have in recent years switched from the Messiah to the "Nakba" - the "disaster of the establishment of the State of Israel", as defined by many Palestinians and Israeli Arabs.
The organizations are engaged in conscious and practical preparation for the realization of "return", prepare lesson plans for non-formal educational institutions in Israel regarding such a possibility, and even prepare working papers designed to "imagine the return" in order to "realize it".
Among other things, the organizations deal with the issue of land allocation and construction for the "refugees", in fact their descendants, as well as information work with the Jewish public, which will make it easier for them to market the idea.
In Israel, there is a consensus between the right and the left that Zionists deny any possibility of exercising what the Palestinians call the "right of return."
One of the leading bodies in the practice of "return" is the "Zochrot" organization.
Zochrot currently holds workshops, conferences, study groups and activities to deepen the "practice of return", as the organization defines it: "not only recognition of the right, but thinking about the arrangements and actions that can enable return and support life for returning refugees ...".
Among other things, Zochrot cooperates with Palestinian organizations in Bethlehem, Haifa and Nazareth, and also conducts workshops for Palestinian youth, "while thinking together about what the return will look like in reality, where most former Palestinian homes were destroyed or are now inhabited by Jewish Israelis."

One of the moves that Zochrot took was the establishment of the "Return Council" - a forum of Israelis, which was established in 2018 and has since disseminated its teachings.
The land section, in one of the return papers of the Return Council, is the most instructive of all: They are against their will. "
"The guiding principle," the Return Council action paper continues, "is that refugee lands will be returned to them. At the same time, appropriate and humane solutions must be found that will not create human injustices and hardships in relation to current residents." "Current residents and compensate the owners for land that will not be allowed to return. Previous Palestinian localities will be able to choose to unite as part of their re-establishment ... Local economic assets will be transferred to the ownership of the Palestinian communities."
Dr. Adi Schwartz, who co-authored the book The War for the Right of Return with Anat Wilf, warns that the return of refugees, and in fact their descendants, means an Arab majority in the State of Israel. "This means," says Schwartz, That Zionism is folding its flags.
This means that there is no State of Israel, that the project of the State of Israel ends in failure.
