Method for cleaning window rails (TIKTOK)

There is nothing more disgusting than scrubbing the house and polishing it, being sure it is in perfect condition in terms of cleanliness - then opening a window and discovering a pile of filth of feces mixed with feathers on it.

When it comes to pigeons, there are not many options other than to keep them away from the area and make sure that they do not get dirty on our balconies or window sills.

In order to eliminate the pigeons in the most appropriate way, you should first understand why they come to us ("Know the enemy").

The pigeons will usually come to the human habitation to consume water and set up a nest, so many times they will reach the laundry mysteries where there is usually the air conditioner pipe and boiler dripping water, or the window sill where there is the window pocket where one can easily set up a nest without anyone interfering.

In other cases the pigeons also reach the railings, just to look at the view from above.

Their feces can also transmit diseases.

The pigeons' nest is made by twigs and branches that they find and bring with them to the chosen location (your window sill / laundry hideout).

The pigeons will usually lay 2 eggs in the nest at a time, with both the male and female sharing in the incubation on the eggs, which lasts between 16 and 20 days.

Pigeons live between 5 and 15 years, so if you do not want to continue to share your living space with them, you should be active, and not wait for the problem to "solve itself".

The solutions for treating the ion problem are very simple and can be applied completely independently and they are divided into two:

1. Removal using an anti-ion net

- installation of a net will be done in places where we can "close" through the net and thus prevent the ions from entering the same space permanently.

We will most often apply this solution in laundry closets or balconies, it is recommended to use a transparent mesh, so as not to ruin the landscape.

If you do not want to share the house with them for 15 years, do not wait for the problem to be solved on your own.

2. Removal by installing spikes

- Installation of spikes will be performed in places where the pigeons like to sit, the pigeons will be removed only from the places where the spikes were installed (as opposed to the mesh solution).

The spikes are usually installed on window sills or railings on which pigeons like to settle.

Now that we have made sure that the pigeons do not come to soil our house anymore, we only have to take care of the feces that they have already left for us as a souvenir.

The feces should be removed using water (preferably a pressurized water hose) and putty or anything else that will allow us to scrape the feces, towards the end of the cleaning it is advisable to add bleach or other disinfectant that will also help eliminate the unpleasant odor.

Please note that during cleaning, appropriate clothing and gloves should be worn so as not to come in contact with feces that may transmit diseases.
