After a restless night in the National Assembly, Olivier Véran is "confident" this Wednesday in the possibility of restoring the health bill to the Senate.
“We are confident in the possibility of convincing the senators who are already convinced of the interest of such a measure”, affirmed the government spokesperson at the end of the Council of Ministers while the text was adopted truncated in first reading by the Assembly on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.
The text on the Covid-19 epidemic was amputated from a key article on a possible return of the health pass at the borders, which the RN, LFI and LR opposed.
It is to be considered next week in the Senate.
“The Republicans in the Senate may have spoken ten times in favor of this provision which was deleted yesterday by the deputies of the National Rally, of France insubordinate and a few dozen LR deputies”, underlined the Minister Delegate.
"It's not a vote on the merits"
“So I consider that the conditions are already on the table which allow senators to restore their confidence in a device which they themselves have been calling for for more than two years”, he added.
Mr. Véran considered “that there is no link between protective measures at the borders in the event of a serious and serious viral threat and the question of unvaccinated caregivers”, yet mentioned by the boss of senators LR Bruno Retailleau.
