When parking her BMW, an 80-year-old in Feldkirchen mixed up the gas and brakes – she reversed into a truck that was driving on the adjacent street.
Feldkirchen – On Wednesday afternoon, around 12.30 p.m., an 80-year-old resident in Munich caused an accident.
She wanted to park her BMW backwards in the area of Feldkirchner Wolfgangplatz, the police informed.
In doing so, she slipped, the first investigation, off the brake pedal and pressed the accelerator pedal instead.
As a result, the BMW suddenly accelerated and raced backwards.
The lady sped backwards over plants and green strips, over the sidewalk and onto the roadway of the adjacent Aschheimer Straße (B 471).

At the same time, a 55-year-old man residing in the Fürstenfeldbruck district was also driving his Daimler truck north on the B 471 in the direction of Aschheim.
According to police, the rear of the car collided with the right front of the passing truck.
As a result of the collision, the 80-year-old's car was turned 90 degrees and thrown back onto the sidewalk.
The car crashed into a bus shelter and then stopped.
Fortunately, there were no pedestrians on the sidewalk at the time of the accident - or passengers at the bus stop.
